Three years is a long time to go without any fly fishing shows so Stac and I were super excited to see they were back on in full force this year. Our first stop was the Marlborough fly fishing show in Massachusetts and it didn’t disappoint. The shows are back and so are the people.
Stac and I was worked the Mayfly booth talking and promoting Airflo, Ross reels and Abel reels. The first day had a nice steady flow of people despite the snow. Day two ramped up and the booth was busy all day. At times all four of us were busy answering questions and telling stories. Day three is typically slow so we were pleasantly surprised by just how many people passed through our booth. Each day we talked to people from www.maineflyfish.com, instagram and even a few clients. One of the highlights for the weekend was attending the Fly Fishing Film Tour with friends and clients Friday night.
I think the show had something for everyone. There were lodges, fly tiers, rods, writers, reels, vises, nets, guides, flies and tying supplies. Companies and people with the same common interest, fly fishing. I predict we’ll see more venders at Marlborough next year.
Thanks for a great kick off to the show season Marlborough. See you Edison, NJ. We’re looking forward to another great weekend of fly fishing with friends!
